Dr Toni Sant is a faculty member at the University of Salford's School of Arts, Media and Creative Technologies. With a PhD in Performance Studies from New York University (2003), Dr Sant has extensive experience in UK higher education, having previously served as Reader in Digital Curation at the University of Hull's Scarborough Campus, and as Senior Lecturer in Arts & New Media (2010-2013) and Lecturer in Performance and Creative Technologies (2004-2010).
Dr Sant's research centers on digital humanities and curation, with notable expertise in applying open knowledge platforms like Wikidata to artistic practice and cultural heritage. Their scholarly work bridges academic theory with practical applications, particularly through collaborations with artists like Enrique Tabone. Recent publications demonstrate innovative approaches to using structured data for artistic expression and cultural interpretation.
