Toni Dorfman is an Adjunct Professor at Yale University, where she has taught since 1999. Her instructional expertise includes acting, directing, playwriting, and production seminars focused on playwrights such as Beckett, Stoppard, Pinter, Orton, Wilder, Chekhov, Molière, and Brecht.
She co-founded the annual Yale Playwrights Festival in 2003 and has directed nine Baroque opera productions through the Yale Baroque Opera Project, including works by Monteverdi, Sacrati, Rossi, Cavalli, and Purcell. These productions are integrated with her undergraduate course 'Analyzing, Performing, and Directing Early Opera.'
Dorfman holds a BA in Philosophy from Carleton College/University of Iowa and an MFA in Theater Directing from Columbia University. She is a member of Actors’ Equity, SAG-AFTRA, SDC, and the Dramatists Guild.
