Ton Lisman

Ton Lisman is a Professor of Experimental Surgery at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Groningen, and a key researcher at the Groningen Institute for Organ Transplantation (GIOT). His work bridges Hematology and Hepatology, focusing on hemostasis in liver disease and transplantation.

His research explores hemostatic rebalancing in liver failure, platelet roles in liver repair, and mechanisms of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in donor organs. Recent publications highlight his expertise in fibrinogen function, gut-liver interactions, and coagulation during transplantation.
