Tomáš Zima is a distinguished Czech academic currently serving as Rector of Charles University, following leadership roles as Dean (2005-2012) and Vice-Dean (2012-2014) of the First Faculty of Medicine. He holds the academic rank of Professor of Medical Chemistry and Biochemistry since 2001, preceded by Associate Professor (1996-2001) and Assistant Professor (1993-1996) positions at the same institution.
