Dr Tommy Yuan is an Associate Professor (Reader) in the Department of Computer Science at the University of York. His research focuses on argumentation, dialogue systems, and AI applications in domains like social interaction for autistic children and railway systems. He holds a PhD in Computer Science and an MSc in Software Engineering.

Research Interests: His work spans argumentation frameworks, machine learning techniques for argument mining, reinforcement learning for agent-based dialogue systems, and graph neural networks for argument labeling. He also explores AI's role in railway system dependability and assistive technologies for neurodivergent populations.
