Dr. Mark Nicholson is a Professor and Reader in the Department of Computer Science at the University of York, specializing in System Safety Engineering. His research focuses on safety certification of modular systems, data integrity in safety-critical systems, and application of safety engineering in aerospace, automotive, railway, medical, and maritime domains. He has developed Masters programs in System Safety with automotive and railway applications, including collaborations in China. He holds a DPhil in Real-Time Systems and has extensive experience in EU research projects and CPD teaching for industries like Airbus and BAE Systems.

Grants & Collaborations: Involved in EU projects, including the StAMP Committee and initiatives in railway safety in China. His research group focuses on High Integrity Systems, addressing challenges in assurance and safety for complex systems.
