Professor Tommy Dickinson is a Professor of Nursing Education and Head of the Department of Mental Health Nursing at King’s College London. He is also an Honorary Professor at Queen's University Belfast and holds roles as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Consultant and Chief Executive of Mad 'Ed Theatre, a company addressing mental health perceptions. His research focuses on diversity and inclusion in healthcare and education, particularly LGBTQ+ issues in aging populations and nursing education reform. Dickinson earned degrees from Bournemouth, Bradford, and Manchester Universities. He has held academic roles globally, including a 2018 visiting professorship at the University of Virginia. Key achievements include the 2015 Lavinia Dock Award for historical nursing research and 2021 Fellowship in the National League for Nursing’s Academy.

Grants & Teams: Leads the King’s Health Programmes Attainment Gaps Research Group. Collaborates internationally on LGBTQ+ health equity. Founded the Older People’s Understandings of Sexuality (OPUS) research group.
