Tomeu Sales Gelabert

Tomeu Sales Gelabert is a Professor in the Philosophy department at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), with teaching responsibilities across both undergraduate and graduate programs. His current academic appointments for 2025-26 include Political Philosophy, Contemporary Social Theory, and Philosophy Thesis in the Philosophy degree program, as well as multiple courses in Master's programs including Cognition and Society, and Cognition and Human Evolution.

His research expertise spans contemporary political philosophy, feminist political philosophy, normative democratic theory, and intersectionality studies. Sales Gelabert's work critically examines how class and gender oppression operate through financialization processes, vulnerability and precarity in social structures, and the public sphere as a battleground for feminist discourse. His research demonstrates consistent thematic focus on social reproduction, democratic theory, and feminist political thought across his publications.

He actively participates in three major research projects: HABEMA (analyzing class and gender oppression through housing financialization in the Balearic Islands), 'Citizenship and the Crisis of Liberal Democracy in a Changing World' with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, and 'Biological Reproduction, Social Reproduction, and the Public Sphere - REPRODUCE' funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
