Tomasz Marszalek

Dr. Tomasz Marszalek serves as a part-time researcher at Lodz University of Technology's Department of Molecular Physics and as a group leader at the Molecular Electronics Research Group at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research. He established his independent research group through the First Team program of the Foundation of Polish Science in October 2017, while maintaining his position as a postdoctoral visiting scientist at the Max Planck Institute.

His research program focuses on the physicochemical aspects of π-conjugated self-assembling systems and their applications in organic electronics. Key research areas include:

• Identification of bottlenecks in solution-processed organic field-effect transistors
• Role of chemical structure in self-organization and charge transport of organic semiconductors
• Influence of interfacial microstructure on charge carrier transport in hybrid semiconductor films

Dr. Marszalek's publication record demonstrates consistent advancement in understanding the relationship between molecular structure, supramolecular organization, and electronic properties of organic semiconductors. His work bridges fundamental material science with practical device fabrication techniques, particularly in solution processing methods for organic electronics.

As group leader of the Materials Science group, Dr. Marszalek directs research aimed at defining the relationship between semiconductors' chemical structure, supramolecular organization, deposition parameters and charge carrier transport, contributing to the maturation of organic electronics toward industrial applications.
