Tomasz Kamiński is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of International and Political Studies, University of Lodz. His research focuses on paradiplomacy, city diplomacy, and the European Union’s foreign policy, particularly its relations with China and Asia. He has been involved in EU-funded projects (Horizon 2020, Jean Monnet Module) and Polish National Science Centre initiatives. Notably, he co-authored "The Role of Regions in EU-China Relations" (2021) and frequently publishes on subnational diplomacy, urban networks, and geopolitical dynamics.
His work examines how cities and regions engage in diplomacy beyond traditional state frameworks, analyzing their roles in global governance and transnational partnerships. Recent studies include the impact of crises on city diplomacy and the strategic importance of EU-China urban collaborations. Kamiński also explores EU strategic autonomy and the evolving geopolitical landscape, emphasizing the need for adaptive diplomatic mechanisms in a multipolar world.
