Tomas Mrazek, M.Eng., is a Research Associate at the Chair of Space Mobility and Propulsion at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), where he has worked since September 2024. His academic background includes a MEng in Aerospace Engineering (2022) from Imperial College London, with a thesis on Compressible Flow in Hyperloop Tunnels, and a MRes in Future Propulsion and Power (2023) from the University of Cambridge, focusing on Multiphase Flow Modelling. Prior to academia, he worked as an Aerodynamics Engineer at Alstom.
Research Focus: Space propulsion systems, computational fluid dynamics, and simulation methods. He contributes to the S4I2T (Solar for Ice to Thrust) project funded by the European Innovation Council, which develops water electrolysis propulsion systems for sustainable in-space operations. His work explores autonomous control, collision avoidance in space traffic, and clean propellant technologies.
Publications: Includes a 2023 study on shock wave dynamics in Hyperloop tubes, reflecting his expertise in fluid mechanics and propulsion innovation.
