معرفی
Dr. Vladimir Parezanovic is an Assistant Professor in the Aerospace Engineering Department at Khalifa University, joining in August 2017. With over fifteen years of experience in experimental fluid mechanics and aerodynamics, he has contributed to ANR and CNES research projects, focusing on turbulent wakes, flow control, and machine learning applications. His work bridges aerospace and underwater propulsion, including biomimetic designs inspired by marine species.
- Education:
- PhD in Fluid Mechanics, Ecole Polytechnique (2011)
- MSc in Fluid Mechanics and Energetics, Ecole Polytechnique (2008)
- BSc (Dipl. Ing.) in Aeronautical Engineering, University of Belgrade (Serbia)
Research Interests: His expertise spans experimental aerodynamics, flow control methods using actuators (e.g., Dielectric-Barrier-Discharge plasma jets), wind tunnel testing, and machine learning for fluid dynamics prediction. Key projects include studying drone wake interactions for urban air mobility, predictive modeling of ship airwakes, and developing a biomimetic-joint-thrust system for underwater propulsion inspired by cephalopods.
Teaching: Dr. Parezanovic teaches courses in aerodynamics (ECCE654, AERO335, AERO336), classical mechanics (AERO201), experimental methods (CHEG213, AERO623), and viscous flows (AERO431). He also leads the KU Low Speed Wind Tunnel facility at the SAN Campus.
