Tomas Corcoran

Professor Tomas Corcoran is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the UWA Medical School, The University of Western Australia. His research focuses on surgical outcomes, perioperative care, and inflammation management. He has contributed to over 65 peer-reviewed publications and led two major research grants.

His work addresses critical areas such as the effects of dexamethasone in surgical settings, chronic postsurgical pain, and machine learning applications in predicting postoperative risks. He has collaborated internationally and contributed to initiatives aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Key grants include the Royal Perth Hospital-funded study on anaesthetic depth and resolvins (2015–2018) and the Neurotrauma Research Program project on neurological injury (2007–2009). His research frequently involves randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews.
