Dr. Tom Willhammar is an Associate Professor at the Department of Materials and Environmental Chemistry, Stockholm University. His research focuses on electron microscopy and diffraction techniques for structural characterization of materials at atomic and nanoscales.
- Developed 3D electron diffraction and scanning electron diffraction methods
- Lead projects on cellulose nanostructure, zeolite nanotubes, and MOF-based water remediation
His research group includes 5 PhD students and 1 postdoc. Current projects are funded by Swedish Research Council, Formas, and WISE.
Recent publications (2020-2024) span Nature, Science, and Nature Water, highlighting zeolite synthesis, cellulose imaging, and pharmaceutical pollutant removal.
