Tom Sharkey

Dr Tom Sharkey serves as a Lecturer in Criminal Justice within the School of Law, Policing and Social Sciences at Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU). He commenced his academic journey at CCCU as a PhD student in 2017 and transitioned into his current lecturing role in 2023, delivering instruction across Politics, Law, International Relations, Arts, and Education programmes with a focus on interdisciplinary curriculum development.

His academic qualifications include:

• BA (Hons) in Drama and English and American Literature from the University of Kent
• MA in Art, Politics and Resistance from the University of Kent
• PhD in Political Theory and Art from Canterbury Christ Church University

Dr Sharkey's research bridges radical political thought, applied social theory, and arts practice through an explicitly interdisciplinary lens. As managing editor of the European Review of International Studies, he contributes to scholarly dissemination while developing teaching innovations across criminal justice and political theory modules.
