Tom Osborne

Tom Osborne is a researcher at the University of Reading focusing on climate change impacts on agricultural systems. His work develops and applies coupled crop-climate models to assess climate change effects on global food production.

He co-developed the JULES-crop model integrating crop phenology into land surface simulations, enabling improved prediction of climate change impacts on agricultural productivity. His research quantifies uncertainty in crop yield projections under climate scenarios and examines multi-sector climate vulnerability.

Recent publications include global assessments of climate policy impacts, evaluations of climate change thresholds for crop productivity, and analyses of model uncertainty in wheat yield simulations.
