Dr. Tom Mercer is a Reader in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Wolverhampton's Faculty of Education, Health, and Wellbeing. He holds a BSc in Psychology and a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Leeds. His research focuses on human memory mechanisms, particularly interference effects and forgetting over time, and he co-leads the 'Applied Cognition and Individual Differences' research cluster with Dr. Claire Jones. Mercer teaches cognitive psychology, research methods, and supervises PhD students in experimental psychology.
