Tom Chou is a Professor at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Departments of Computational Medicine and Mathematics. He is also affiliated with the Bioengineering Department, Physiology IDP, Bioinformatics IDP, and Statistical & Biomathematical Consulting Center.

His research spans applied mathematics, statistical physics, and theoretical biophysics, focusing on stochastic processes, inverse problems, and mathematical biology. Recent work involves machine learning for stochastic differential equations, overdose mortality forecasting, and ligand discrimination in immune signaling. He has received grants from the NIH, NSF, and Army Research Office, and serves as Director of the Systems & Integrative Biology Training Grant.
