Eindhoven University of Technologyمعرفی
Tom Bradley is an Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator of the Multi Material Optical Fibre (MMOF) Lab within the Electro-Optical Communications Group at Eindhoven University of Technology. His work bridges fiber optic sensing, quantum sensing, and physical layer security through novel optical fiber development and post-processing techniques.
Academic Background:
- MPhys, University of Bath (2009)
- PhD, University of Bath (2014)
Research Interests: Focuses on quantum communications and security (CV/DV QKD), novel optical fibers (few-mode, multicore, hollow core), quantum sensing with atomic vapors, fiber tapering/splicing, and quantum light sources (squeezed states, single photons). Combines fiber fabrication theory with practical applications in both classical and quantum sensing.
Scientific Trends: Recent publications highlight advancements in free-space quantum key distribution resilience, petabit-scale multicore fiber transmission, and polarization fading mitigation in SDM systems. These works span both theoretical modeling and experimental validation.
Awards:
- 2014: Best early career presentation prize at EPSRC manufacturing the future conference
Teaching: Currently teaches Optical Fibre Communication Technology and Programming and Engineering Challenge courses at Eindhoven University of Technology.
