معرفی
Michael Frosz is the Head of the Technology Development Service Unit (TDSU) Fibre Fabrication & Glass Studio at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light. His research focuses on advanced optical fiber technologies, particularly hollow-core photonic crystal fibers and their applications in nonlinear optics, ultrafast lasers, and optofluidic systems. He leads efforts in developing novel fiber designs for low-loss broadband transmission, nonlinear frequency conversion, and real-time characterization techniques.
Research Interests: Focused on creating innovative fiber architectures for next-generation optical systems. Key areas include:
- Nonlinear optical processes in hollow-core fibers
- Supercontinuum generation and broadband light sources
- Optical vortex modes and helical Bloch waveguiding
- Gas- and liquid-filled fiber systems for tunable applications
- Optofluidic microreactors for in-situ chemical analysis
Recent Article Trends: Recent work emphasizes:
- Development of low-loss UV-transmitting hollow-core fibers
- Nonlinear frequency conversion in perfluorocarbon-filled fibers
- Real-time fiber characterization via Fabry-Pérot interferometry
- Applications in photocatalysis monitoring and Li-ion battery sensing
Lab & Teams: Directs the TDSU Fibre Fabrication unit, collaborating with groups working on fiber-based sensors, ultrafast optics, and quantum optical systems.
