- B.S., Cornell University
His research spans television, films, documentaries, popular culture, and sport, with specialized focus on post-9/11 television programming, temporal structures in media narratives, and educational technology applications. An HBO enthusiast who wrote his dissertation on The Wire and appeared as an extra on The Sopranos, he examines cultural intersections between media, sports, and national identity.
His publications reveal evolving scholarly trajectories from analyzing television's temporal paradigms (2013) to sports-media responses to national trauma (2012), culminating in pedagogical innovations for presentation skills development (2011), demonstrating interdisciplinary movement between media theory and educational practice.
Dr. Sodano actively mentors students through advanced production classes premiering at Rochester's Little Theatre and organizes New York City professional development trips where students network with media professionals, including Fisher alumni, touring landmark media institutions and engaging with industry practitioners.
