Todd Saxton

Todd Saxton is Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University at Buffalo's School of Management, where he serves as Faculty Lead for Life Science Entrepreneurship. He holds a PhD in Strategy and Entrepreneurship from Indiana University and a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia.

Saxton's research examines how startups secure resources, the role of venture advocates in launch and growth, social exchange theory in innovation networks, and success factors in corporate acquisitions. His work applies construal theory to health behaviors and strategic decision-making.

His recent publications focus on entrepreneurial signaling, vaccine messaging psychology, and strategic alliances in bio-pharma. Research demonstrates consistent themes in resource acquisition strategies and uncertainty management.

Saxton has extensive industry consulting experience in corporate strategy and venture growth, particularly in life/health sciences. He serves on startup boards and founded the Society of Physician Entrepreneurs chapter.
