Todd Bittner is a Lecturer in the School of Integrative Plant Science, Horticulture Section at Cornell University, concurrently serving as Director of Natural Areas for the Cornell Botanic Gardens. He oversees 3,600 acres across 40 natural preserves conserving Finger Lakes ecosystems, including Cornell's gorges, Beebe Lake, and wildflower gardens. His work bridges academic instruction with on-ground conservation management.
Bittner teaches the 400-level course Restoration Ecology, integrating principles from ecology, hydrology, soil science, and conservation biology through field visits and practical projects. His core research domains include:
