Tobias Wild is a researcher at the Institute for Classical Archaeology of the University of Regensburg (since 09/2023). He previously held a doctoral position at the University of Freiburg (2019-2023) and a temporary research assistant role during parental leave coverage in 2023.

His research focuses on Hellenistic sculpture production, particularly small-scale bronze statuettes. He examines iconography, production techniques, and social contexts of ruler portraits, combining archaeological analysis with art-historical interpretation. His recent work highlights ad-hoc creation processes and private veneration practices.
Key awards include the Günther-Wöhrle-Preis (2019) and travel scholarship from the German Archaeological Institute (2024-2025). He has published extensively on Hellenistic bronze statuettes and co-organized exhibition projects on ancient sculpture groups.
