معرفی
Tobias Schatton is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, affiliated with the Harvard Skin Disease Research Center. His work bridges melanoma biology, immune checkpoint regulation, and cancer stem cell research, focusing on immunotherapeutic strategies and tumor microenvironment dynamics.
Research interests include:
- Elucidating cell-intrinsic PD-1 and Tim-3 signaling in melanoma progression
- Characterizing ABCB5-positive dermal cells in chemoresistance
- Investigating T-cell homing barriers in immunotherapy
- Exploring ROS and mTOR pathways in Merkel cell carcinoma
Scientific contributions span 2005–2024, with 15 recent articles highlighting:
- Immune checkpoint modulation in melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma
- Novel nanoparticle-based targeting of antigen-presenting cells
- Mechanisms of T-cell exhaustion and desmoplasia in tumor microenvironments
- Clinical outcome predictions using PD-L1 expression in esophageal adenocarcinoma
Active NIH-funded projects include:
- R01CA258637 (Co-PI): Cell type-directed Tim-3 targeting in melanoma
- R01CA247957 (PI): Integrin-dependent metastasis pathways
- R01CA190838 (PI): Melanoma-PD-1 in cancer progression
Collaborations include researchers like Markus Frank, Steven Barthel, and George Murphy. Current efforts focus on translational immunology and targeted cancer therapies.
