Toacy Oliveira is an academic with multiple affiliations: an Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPPE/UFRJ), a Visiting Professor at the University of Waterloo, and an Associate Researcher at ISTAR/ISCTE-IUL. He earned his PhD in 2001 from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Waterloo.
His research focuses on Software Engineering, particularly the Representation and Analysis of Knowledge-Intensive Processes such as Software Processes and Reuse Processes. He has published over 60 indexed articles and actively participates in Brazilian and international program committees.
Toacy has secured funding from Brazilian agencies like CAPES and CNPq, as well as Canada’s NSERC. He also has industry experience, having founded a software company in 1998 and served as its director until 2011.
