Tjun Hoh is a Lecturer in Data Science at the UCL School of Management since 2024. Previously, he held positions as a Lecturer in Mathematics and Statistics at Coventry University (2021–2024), where he also served as a course director, and as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bristol (2020–2021), focusing on spatial data analysis via single-molecule localisation microscopy. He has taught at multiple institutions, including the University of Bristol and the London School of Economics.
Hoh holds a PhD in Statistical Science from University College London (2019), where his research centered on Bayesian inference and model selection for diffusion processes. He also earned a BSc in Mathematics and Statistical Science from UCL (2013). Additional certifications include a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Higher Education from Coventry University (2023).
His research interests span Statistics, Machine learning, and Statistical data science, with a focus on methodologies such as Bayesian inference and their applications in spatial data analysis. He is also actively involved in Curriculum and pedagogy, particularly in enhancing teaching practices in mathematics, statistics, and data science education. His work further explores Deep learning and Artificial intelligence, demonstrating a broad engagement with modern data-driven disciplines.
Hoh has received notable recognitions including the Chartered Statistician (CStat) designation and Fellowship (FHEA) from the Advance HE. His professional activities include availability for advisory roles, collaborative projects, industry partnerships, and academic reviewing.
