Tito Michele Boeri

Tito Michele Boeri is a Full Professor and Head of the Department of Economics at Bocconi University in Milan. He previously served as Pro-rector for Research at Bocconi until 2014 and as President of Italy’s National Social Security Institute (INPS) from 2015 to 2019. He holds a Senior Visiting Professorship at the London School of Economics (LSE), where he was previously a Centennial Professor. His roles include Senior Economist at the OECD and consultancy work with the IMF, World Bank, EU, and Italian government.

Research interests focus on labor economics, public policy, and social security systems, with notable contributions to imperfect labor markets and regional economic dynamics. He co-founded www.lavoce.info and www.voxeu.org, and directs the Turin Festival of Economics. He received the CEPR’s 'Special Service to the Profession' Prize in 2023.

Boeri is affiliated with multiple research institutes, including CEPR, CEP (London), IZA (Bonn), and Netspar (Tillburg). He has authored influential works such as The Economics of Imperfect Labor Markets and contributes to media like La Repubblica, Financial Times, and Le Monde.
