Titilola Halimat Somotan is an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. Her research focuses on twentieth-century African history, particularly decolonization, postcolonial governance, and urban development. She holds a PhD from Columbia University and has been supported by prestigious fellowships including the Princeton-Mellon Initiative and CLIR-Mellon grants.

Her awards include fellowships from Carnegie Mellon University, the Princeton-Mellon Initiative in Architecture, Urbanism, and the Humanities, and the Carter G. Woodson Institute.
