Titan C. Paul

Titan C. Paul is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Carolina's Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina (2014), an M.S. from Tuskegee University (2009), and a B.S. from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (2005). His research focuses on thermal engineering innovations, particularly in energy storage liquids for solar technologies, heat transfer enhancement, nanofluids, and thermal management systems.

Dr. Paul leads several research directions including: Ionic liquids-based nanofluids for solar applications; Water-Al₂O₃ nanofluids for electronic cooling; Microchannel heat sinks for high-heat-flux devices; and Molecular dynamics simulations of nanoengineered surfaces. His publications consistently demonstrate advancements in thermal efficiency through experimental, computational, and theoretical approaches.

He has received multiple awards including the USCA Scholarly Achievement Award 2020 and has secured significant research funding from NSF, Robin Hood Foundation, and others. Dr. Paul mentors numerous graduate and undergraduate students, directing capstone projects and supervising research in thermal sciences. His laboratory focuses on sustainable energy solutions through nanoscale thermal engineering innovations.
