معرفی
Dr. Tirin Moore is the Ben Barres Professor of Neurobiology at Stanford University and an Investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. He holds affiliations with the Wu Tsai Neuroscience Institute, Bio-X, and the Maternal & Child Health Research Institute (MCHRI). His research focuses on understanding neural mechanisms underlying visual perception, cognition, and visually guided behavior through primate brain studies. He pioneered the development of NHP Neuropixels probes for high-density neural recordings, advancing systems-level neurobiology.
His laboratory investigates visual-motor integration, attention, and working memory by studying single-neuron activity in primates and testing causal interventions on brain function. Recent work leverages novel technologies to explore how neural perturbations affect perceptual and motor performance. Dr. Moore is recognized for his contributions to neuroscience, including membership in prestigious academies and the 2023 Andrew Carnegie Prize.
