Tine Hansen-Turton is a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania, teaching at both the Fels Institute of Government and the School of Nursing. She holds leadership roles as President and Chief Operating Officer of Woods Services, Executive Director of the Convenient Care Association, and Chief Executive Officer of the National Nursing Centers Consortium. Her work focuses on public and social innovations, nonprofit leadership, health policy, and expanding access to healthcare through nurse-led clinics.
Educationally, she earned a BA from Slippery Rock University, a Master of Government/Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania Fels Institute, and a Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law.
Her research interests emphasize social innovation, health policy reform, and equitable healthcare delivery, particularly through her advocacy for nurse practitioners as primary care providers. She has co-authored eight books and launched a social impact journal.
Ms. Hansen-Turton has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Eisenhower Fellowship, and is a vocal advocate for systemic change in healthcare and human services. She leads the Social Innovations Lab at Fels, fostering practical solutions to societal challenges.
