Tina Ruiz is a Part-Time Lecturer at the University of New Mexico's School of Architecture and Planning, specializing in Community Regional Planning. She holds an MCRP in Community Development (UNM) and a B.A. in Sociology (New Mexico State University). Her work integrates public health, data-driven methods, and community empowerment to address complex challenges, particularly in disaster resilience and sustainable solutions. She operates a consulting firm and has worked across private, non-profit, government, and academic sectors in all 33 New Mexico counties.

Research focuses on community wellness through evidence-based approaches, emphasizing equitable solutions for health outcomes and environmental crises. Her recent work includes the 2023 Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire Recovery Plan for Mora and San Miguel counties. Awards include Alpha Kappa Delta (2005), National Dean's List (2003-2006), and Phi Eta Sigma (2003).
Engagement includes roles with Amnesty International, New Mexico Water Collaborative, and Otero Mesa Preservation Society. She teaches CRP 511 - Analytical Methods for Planners.
