Tina Nabatchi is the Joseph A. Strasser Endowed Professor in Public Administration at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, with joint appointments as Director of the Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration (PARCC) and Senior Research Associate at both the Campbell Public Affairs Institute and Autonomous Systems Policy Institute. She earned her Ph.D. from Indiana University's School of Public and Environmental Affairs in 2007.
Her research examines:
- Innovative citizen engagement methods for public decision-making
- Design and impact of collaborative governance systems
- Conflict resolution mechanisms in public institutions
- Administrative reforms addressing democratic deficits
Major honors include:
- Laura J. and L. Douglas Meredith Professorship (2021-2024)
- Leslie A. Whittington Excellence in Teaching Award (2019)
- Three best-article awards including recognition for one of Public Administration Review's 75 most influential papers
She leads multiple funded initiatives including Participedia (documenting global democratic innovations) and participatory budgeting projects. Her lab PARCC focuses on conflict transformation and collaborative governance research, supporting scholar-practitioner networks.
