His academic credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Princeton University (with neuroscience focus) and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of California Irvine, where his dissertation examined "Somatotopic plasticity and activity-dependent gene regulation in adult monkey somatosensory cortex".
Dr. Woods' research specializes in Human Anatomy and Physiology and Neuroscience, particularly cross-modal sensory interactions demonstrated through ventriloquism effect studies in primates, as featured in his 2004 MIT Press book chapter.
