Timothy Vernon is a Senior Research Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University, leading the Sport and Human Performance Research Group (S&HP) within the Sport and Physical Activity Research Centre (SPARC). Since 2001, his work has focused on applied sport biomechanics, particularly in golf, and the measurement of physical activity in children and young people. He has collaborated with elite athletes, organizations like the European Tour, and high-profile clients such as Adidas and UK Sport. His research also includes evaluating programs like the Secondary Teacher Training (STT) initiative, aiming to improve physical activity in schools.
Research Interests
Tim’s expertise spans biomechanics applications to enhance sports performance and reduce injury risks, including golf swing mechanics and integration of biomechanics with strength and conditioning. He has expanded his work to assess physical activity levels in youth, leading projects like validating the Active Lives Children and Young People Survey.
