Dr. Timothy Shenk serves as an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering department at Campbell University's School of Engineering, a position he has held since Fall 2019. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (2016), an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, a Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Oregon State University.
His research program focuses on advanced polymer systems with particular emphasis on:
- Polymer nanocomposites and interfacial phenomena
- Surface morphology characterization
- Polymer rheology and high solids loading processing
- Colloidal systems and gel science
Prior to his academic appointment, Dr. Shenk completed postdoctoral research in energy-efficient technology integration and energetic materials processing, and consulted on bio-waste stream conversion projects for revenue enhancement. He also brings semiconductor industry experience as a process engineer.
