Timothy Shannon is a guitarist and educator at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY. He is a founding member of the Rochester Guitar Duo and has performed extensively across the United States as a soloist and chamber musician. His teaching focuses on guitar performance, pedagogy, and fretboard harmony.

Dr. Shannon's research and practice center on classical guitar performance, the history and literature of the guitar, and Baroque performance practice. He has collaborated with notable artists such as soprano Aprile Millo and lutenist Paul O'Dette.
His pedagogical contributions include establishing the Roberts Guitar Ensemble and Guitar Performance Program at Roberts Wesleyan College.
