Timothy Schoonveld serves as Assistant Professor of Kinesiology and Co-Director of Athletics at Hope College, where he has completed nine years of service. He directs the academic programming for the Center for Leadership (CFL) while overseeing 11 varsity athletic teams through his athletics leadership role.
His educational background includes a B.A. in Kinesiology from Hope College (1996) and an M.A. in Sports Administration from Western Michigan University. Current teaching responsibilities feature Inspirational Leadership courses and the senior seminar Thriving in Transitions conducted annually in Alaska, examining life calling through experiential learning.
Dr. Schoonveld's expertise spans Kinesiology fundamentals, athletic program administration, leadership development frameworks, and team cohesion methodologies. His practical approach integrates classroom theory with wilderness immersion experiences during study abroad programs.
