Timothy Sandoval, Ph.D., is a Professor of Religion at Texas Christian University's AddRan College of Liberal Arts. His expertise spans Ancient Israelite Religion, Hebrew Bible studies, and Latinx Biblical Hermeneutics. He holds a PhD from Emory University (2004), MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary (1993), and AB from UC Davis (1990). His research focuses on biblical ethics, wisdom literature, and intersectional hermeneutics.
Dr. Sandoval has published extensively, including monographs like The Moral Vision of Proverbs (2024) and edited volumes on Torah interpretations and Second Temple Judaism. His work bridges academic biblical studies with Latinx theological perspectives. Recent presentations include discussions on virtue ethics and cognitive theories of ethnicity in Tobit.
Honors include Louisville Institute grants (2022, 2013) and multiple fellowships at European universities. He is affiliated with the Society of Biblical Literature and Society of Christian Ethics, contributing to interdisciplinary dialogues on biblical interpretation and ethics.
