Timothy P. Moran

Dr. Timothy P. Moran is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and a member of the Center for Environmental Medicine, Asthma and Lung Biology (CEMALB). He specializes in pediatric allergy, immunology, and rheumatology, with a clinical practice focused on treating children with allergic conditions including asthma and food allergies.

Dr. Moran completed his medical education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2000-2008), followed by a residency in Pediatrics at University of North Carolina Hospitals (2008-2011), and a fellowship in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at Duke University Hospital (2011-2013). He is board certified in both Pediatrics (2011) and Allergy and Immunology (2014).

Dr. Moran's research focuses on how environmental exposures impact the development of allergic diseases. His laboratory specifically investigates how environmental pollutants and immunostimulatory molecules (adjuvants) influence allergic sensitization. His work aims to identify key environmental adjuvants within the indoor exposome that promote allergic sensitization, characterize molecular mechanisms by which these environmental factors condition immune responses, and identify biomarkers of environmental exposure associated with increased risk for allergic disease in children.
