Timothy Jones serves as Professor of Horn at the Royal College of Music, where he is a core member of the Brass faculty. Born in London in 1961, Professor Jones began his distinguished musical career at age 17 when he joined the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra as second horn.
His professional trajectory includes significant appointments with major orchestras: joining the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 1984, becoming Principal Horn of the London Symphony Orchestra in 1986, and performing with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Academy of St Martin in the Fields. As a soloist, he has performed to acclaim with both the Munich Philharmonic and Academy of St Martin in the Fields across the UK and internationally.
