John Ryan is a Horn Professor at the Royal College of Music's Brass faculty. He holds a BMus(Hons) degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he studied under Jeff Bryant and Richard Bissill.
A distinguished horn player, Ryan serves as Principal Horn of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed as guest-principal with prestigious ensembles including the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
His career highlights include solo performances of Strauss and Mozart horn concertos, recordings with RTE Concert Orchestra, and appearances on RTE broadcasts. He actively participates in chamber festivals across Europe and the USA, and performs with the LSO Brass ensemble, London Winds, and Vogler quartet.
