Timothy Hurley is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting at the College of Business, Southern Illinois University Carbondale. His expertise lies in taxation, with a focus on tax policy, corporate tax compliance, and legal aspects of taxation. He teaches tax courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

- LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law
His research explores tax incentives, 529 plans, master limited partnerships, and structural issues in taxation, with publications in journals like Taxes: The Tax Magazine and Tulsa Law Review. Prior to SIU, he held faculty roles at University of Missouri–Columbia, Florida State University, and others. He is a licensed CPA in Missouri and California and a practicing attorney in Missouri and Texas.
