Timothy Hammer is a Researcher at the School of Biological Sciences (University of Adelaide) and holds a joint appointment at the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium (DEW, SA Gov.). His work focuses on the evolution, systematics, and taxonomy of native Australian plants, while contributing to teaching courses such as Evolutionary Biology III and Plant Identification II. At the State Herbarium, he provides plant identification services and maintains South Australia's Plant Census.
- Education: PhD (2019) from the University of Western Australia, thesis on the systematics and taxonomy of the genus Ptilotus (Amaranthaceae).
- Postdoctoral Fellowship: Funded by the Australian Biological Resource Study's National Taxonomy Research Grant Program (2024), focusing on the genus Hibbertia (guinea flowers) and the Flora of Australia treatments for Dilleniaceae.
