Dr. Timothy Foreman is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Qatar Centre for Global Banking & Finance within King’s Business School at King’s College London, a position he has held since March 2021. Previously, he served as a Postdoc at the RFF-CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE) in Milan and as an Adjunct Professor at IE University in Madrid. He holds a PhD in Sustainable Development from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (2019) and a prior academic background in public policy and environmental studies.
Research Interests:
His work focuses on the intersection of climate change, environmental policy, and macroeconomic outcomes. Key areas include analyzing the economic impacts of climate phenomena (e.g., dust storms in West Africa), labor supply responses to climate shifts, and migration driven by environmental factors. Current projects explore systemic climate risks to financial stability and regulatory strategies to mitigate these challenges.
Affiliations & Activities:
Foreman contributes to King’s Climate Hub and organizes interdisciplinary workshops such as the Climate Energy Governance & Finance (CEGF) series and Climate Finance Workshops. He also participates in global discussions on central bank policy challenges and climate-compatible growth strategies in Africa.
