Timothy Feddersen is the Wendell Hobbs Professor of Managerial Politics and Professor of Managerial Economics & Decision Sciences at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He currently serves as Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Research. His research focuses on electoral systems, information aggregation in elections, ethical decision-making in political contexts, and the role of activists in economies. He teaches courses on leadership, crisis management, and nonmarket strategy, emphasizing stakeholder engagement and public opinion dynamics.
Education: PhD in Political Science (University of Rochester, 1993), BA in Mathematics (Indiana University, 1985). Academic roles include Professor at Kellogg since 1998 and prior positions at Northwestern’s Political Science Department. Awards include membership in the American Academy of Arts & Sciences and the Sidney J. Levy Teaching Award (2009-2010).
Recent research explores optimal law design, transparency in advisory committees, and the impact of money in politics. His work has been published in prestigious journals like the Journal of Political Economy, American Political Science Review, and Econometrica.
