Timothy E Wedig is a faculty affiliate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, associated with the Global Studies Program. He serves as Associate Director of Global Studies Programs and Courses and is affiliated with the Center for the Study of Global Gender Equity and the Center for African Studies.

- MA in Government and Politics from University of Maryland, College Park
- BA in Secondary Education, Social Studies from Penn State University
His research focuses on diplomacy and negotiation, conflict prevention/resolution, humanitarian intervention, and state-sponsored mass killing/genocide, particularly in Rwanda. He specializes in technology and social movements and designs education and training simulations for classroom and professional settings.
Affiliated with the Illinois Global Institute and Center for African Studies, Wedig's work intersects global governance and gender and public policy. His 2010 publication on simulation pedagogy demonstrates his commitment to innovative teaching methodologies.
