معرفی
Dr. Timothy Balmer is an Assistant Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University (ASU), with affiliations in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Faculty. His research focuses on understanding how sensory signals are processed in the brain, particularly in hearing and balance systems. He uses techniques such as in vitro/in vivo electrophysiology, optogenetics, and computational modeling to study neural circuits, synapses, and signal integration.

Research Interests:
- Neural mechanisms of auditory and vestibular processing
- Unipolar brush cell (UBC) function and synaptic signaling
- Integration of multisensory inputs in cerebellum-like circuits
- Disorders of hearing (e.g., tinnitus) and balance
Labs/Teams:
- Director of the Balmer Lab, which investigates brain circuit function and sensory disorders
