Dr. Timothy Attanucci is an Assistant Professor of Modern German Literature at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He holds a PhD from Princeton University (2012) and has taught at Princeton (2012–2014). His research focuses on German literary history (18th–21st centuries), environmental humanities, and the intersections of knowledge theory with economics and ecology. He explores melancholy in literary contexts and co-edited works on Hans Blumenberg’s strategies. His teaching includes core courses on modern German literature and seminars on Goethe and Tieck. Recent publications analyze Romantic-era ecological themes and 19th-century economic melancholy.
